Just Purchased Rough Country 2" Leveling Kit

so im sick of my 2011 looking like its nose is in the dirt. scraping on curbs... so i made up my mind on a rough country leveling kit. i got it from ebay with a best offer of $60 plus 6.95 for shipping, and i ALSO had a $10 off coupon from PayPal. so for $56.95 i think i made a pretty good steal of this leveling kit.

on my 08 sierra i had the sky jacker leveling kit, which held up great, but the install was a little more involved than i would have liked. so these bottom strut mount spacers will be much easier!

later on this year im thinking about doing a Body Lift. i dont plan on anything bigger than 33's (yes i know i can run them with the leveling kit) but i dont want them to look stuffed. so im torn between the 3" from zone, or 1.5 from zone, or the 1.25 from rough country (which the RC is the cheapest and comes with all the brackets i need)

any suggestions would be great. my truck will see about 80%-90% street. probably more like 95% street. thanks for any suggestions

I have the zone. If you don't mind the extra .25", then I would just do the RC one since it has all of the brackets. The RC wasn't around when I bought my zone, but I'm happy with it. The only hold up is the bumper brackets, and even they aren't all that bad.

i was reading the install instructions, and the bumper brackets seem like the only hiccup that i could see. that and the brake line relocation. also the steering shaft. but other than that it still doesnt look like much fun. im still debating on wether or not to do the 1.25-1.5, or the 3" BL

With the zone 1.5", there is no steering shaft to lengthen or brake cable to mess with. I guess that is on the zone 3".

so i installed my leveling kit, i couldnt wait any longer. i installed my kit in my muddy drive way. it looks like it should from the factory now! my front end sits just about perfectly lever on one side, and the front end is high by an 1/8" on the passenger side. so im going to get a 2-2.25" rear block to give me and additional .75-1" of rake. i would do the 3" block, but i really dislike the factory rake, and i didnt like the lifted rake on my 08 sierra either.

so i just ordered RC 2" rear lift blocks for the rear of my sierra so i should have 1" of rake. i also ordered their 3"x 35" Rc decal for my rear window of my truck.

hopefully this forum picks up a little bit. seems awfully dead in here. also on repeat posts people get pissy. that and the mods are really bossy. always moving posts that are in the wrong place, even though they kind of belong there.

this is a very good forum for quick information

Hey there you have the same set-up I just put in last night and today. I started with the 2" blocks in the rear and of course new U-bolts, that went pretty easy and it took me a little over an hour. I did the 2" RC lift this morning and I tried following a guy on You-Tube but, I couldn't get the spacer under the shock with out it moving so I ended up removing the sway bar, upper ball joint and A-arm support, then it installed easy. This took me about 3 hours with a couple small breaks in-between. I need to get the camara back from the wife for Pics. Now to get an Alignment, but I like the look with about an 1.25" difference in height between front and rear.

What brand did u use ? and you told the old out correct ?

i will try to post some pics after i recieve my 2" blocks. i went with rough country 2" lift blocks. they were ALMOST 1/3 the price of the ready lift 3" blocks. something like $64 or something. instead of the 150-160 for readylift. yes i will be removing the old blocks

I have the 2.5" ready lift kit in the front and the three inch block in the rear with a very minor rake. so when i tow anything it ends up sitting perfect.

With the three inch block you're only raising the rear by about 1.75".

that may be true about the 1.75" rake, however the factory rake is only about 2"-2 1/4" which is really close to the 1.75" and if you dont like the "factory rake" you probably wont like a 2" in the front, and a 1.75" in the rear.

now with the 2.5" front lift, and a 1.75" rear lift, your difference is now only 1.25, so that would look good IMO. i know 1/2" isnt much, but i just didnt care for the 2" FR with a 1.75" Rear lift. everyones preference are different.

i do know that i dont like the cali lean... which is what mine appears to be sporting now. cant wait for my rear to get lifted a little.
