Tonneau Cover Questions....

Hey all,

Looking to install a tonneau cover on my 2011 CC and a buddy of mine wine with a 2011 Dodge CC 5'8" box installed a Access Original on his truck and likes it a lot, enough to try to sway me into the same thing. I like the features but my only question is if it stays/firm put at highway speeds or does it do the wave at speed? He says it doesn't wave on his truck but I talked with another buddy of mine who had one on his older Silverado with a 6'5" box (early 2000's) and he said that it would wave/wasn't firm at highway speeds.

Does anyone here have any real life experiences that they could share with me on your late model HD with the 6'5" box with an Access tonneau cover installed on it?

Thanks much!

Can't answer your question directly since I went with Truxedo Lo Pro QT instead of access. I bought mine from the ebay seller, it shipped quickly and was exactly as expected (and only cost $350).

I was concerned that it would have a wave at highway speeds but it does not. I noticed some movement one day and later found out the winds were 30-40mph coming from side/back and changing, and the cover was not waving enough to concern me.

Thanks for reply/info Hawkeye-08! Do you have a link/are they still available on E-Bay for $350.00 shipped?

Maybe I should re-ask the question to which tonneau cover other feel works the best on these trucks.... Inside the rail and a low profile are a must for me/my taste. Minimal waving at highway speed and maximum bed space are also a very high priority in my decision.

Thanks,

-John

I've had my Access Loredo cover on my truck for 2 years. The cover doesn't wave at highway speed, but it does have some movement. Passing cars would probably not notice it, because it is so minimal. Otherwise, the build quality seems to be solid and they have a lifetime warranty. I found mine for under $400 at a local shop.

I've had them on three trucks, 2 short beds like yours, and 1 on my current long bed.

Properly secured they have no movement other than some minor "flutter" at highway speed.

hi have lo pro qt seems very stable and is easily removed just 2 spring loaded tabs at the front and just the side rails remain lots of room for quad in my case or other tall objects

No problem, someone referred me when I was looking. It was an easy transaction, shipped the same day, arrived as expected, took 30-40 minutes to install.

Thanks for the info all! I think I have narrowed down my choice to the Access Original or Premium cover.

Again, thank you!
