At what millage should I change the Rear Differential Fluid?

I went to Goodyear this morning to get a Nail removed from my Tire and the suggested it.

I think I'm around 55,000

There was a thread here this week about changing it out about 1500 miles or so once the rear end brakes in so if you never did that it might be a good idea.

I don't know what the manual suggests. I usually have the transmission, front and rear diffs, brakes and the cooling system fluids all changed/flushed (obviously not flushing diffs) about every 3 years regardless of miles driven but that usually comes out to about 35-40K miles. My '10 Sierra only has 3k miles so nothing has been changed on it yet. May change the oil in it this weekend so I can get some synthetic in there.

Sorry for all the extra info. At 55K, I'd say change all the fluids and I'd do a BG Flush on the trans, brakes and cooling system.

Agreed...at 55k I would do it as well, and as a licenced tech and service manager at a Goodyear up here I would also recommend it to my customers.

Of course we want to make money, who wants to work for free... but fluid changes at regular intervals is not a scam, it's called maintenance. Without it you would go to the dealer and bitch that the truck you purchased was a POS because it didn't last forever on fuel alone.

Really...not trying to start crap, but too many people on this site calling dealer tech's and others scammers that have no knowledge otherwise. We should really be a little more curtious to those that make sure we all get to work on time and are able to pay our bills...

and yes, even the repair ones :)

BG is too expensive, and if your gonna use their warranty to back up their price thats BS, ever looked and their maintenance schedule to keep the BG warranty? its ridiculous WAYYYY to expensive

Where can I find a how to on changing the rear dif, trans, coolant, and brake fluid?

Diff, tranny and coolant are easy BUT if you are looking for a how to on brake fluid I suggest stay away, I know everyone has to start somewhere but brakes are something you dont want to mess up, it is best to learn by watching someone who knows what they are doing a few times and then attempt yourself.

What have you been quoted to do a BG flush and on what components did you check?

I paid $158 for a BG trans fllush including everything. This was last year. Not bad in my opininon since only a flush will get all of the old atf out. I was curious what you thought was "ridiculous and way to expensive" of a price and I had a feeling you wouldn't remember the price. I'm not getting on you but some are quick to down a suggestion with no backup info.
