2005 Chevy Tahoe

I have a 2005 Chevy Tahoe with a driver's side tail light issue. I get power to the turn signal, reverse light and the brake light when engaged but when I turn on the tail light the bulb does not work. I replaced the wire harness because the socket for the tail light and brake light appeared to be scortched. This still did not correct the problem I did a circuit test with a light tester on the light socket and there was no power to the prongs that control the tail light. I should note that there is a junction box on the right rear panel that I tested also and the circuit tester light came on, but the harness running from that box to the left side of the vehicle is not getting any juice. How do I trouble shoot this problem?
