2002 Sierra 1500, Rattle Noise

I am having a rattle sound coming from under the dash on the driver side when on bumpy roads. I first thought it may be my brake peddle lose and rattling but checked it and thats not the problem. It sounds like it is coming from down near the steering column. I feel no vibration or anything odd with the steering, just this rattling everytime im on bumpy road. anybody know what this may be. I reached under to try and see if I could shake anything under the dash area and see if anything is loose but found nothing.

Could be the intermediate steering shaft or the bearing at the end of the steering column

I had the same rattle that sounded like it was in the steering shaft or behind the speedometer somewhere, i found the rattle today!!! It was the emergency brake cable rubbing on a rubber piece. It's located behind the plastic cover by the lever to pull your hood opener inside the driver door. Hope this helps.
