Help With Noise?!

I recently bought a new to me '02 duramax with 250kms and I put on a new transfercase cause of famous "pump rub" and got a new NSBU switch and replaced transmission fluid all oils and full synthetic, and all around service and after I dumped my wallet and cleaned the truck up and put my edge evo race into it I went for a drive to test everything and noticed a weird whinning/whoosh sound that to me is like an exhaust leak or turbo leak. It only does it under a load and when the rpm's are over 2,000. My edge reads up to 20 lbs. of boost on level 4.

I have looked around and many guys can get up to 25-30 lbs of boost. It still has power and smokes when i put it down just has a really loud whoooosh sound like a leak of boost or even my fan clutch is stuck spinning the fan at full speed.... Any help would be awesome cause I just dropped 10,000 of work into this truck and need it to be reliable.... :)

Sounds like you have a weak wastegate. Several companies make aftermarket wastegates that you can use. Be sure to never ever go over 40 psi on the stock turbo though. In fact it is generally known that there are no gains to be had above about 32 psi.

Good call. I took the line going into the wastegate off and went for a drive and it was no different then when it was hooked up, so I;m guessing that it might be the problem...Thanks a bunch :troll:
