Rear Shocks

i have an add a leaf in my truck and yes the stock shocks work with them but i do feel them come to their end every once in a while. and one of the shock mount bushings is shot now and the shock klunks around a little bit im having a new stock shock put in under warranty tomorrow but i need to get different shocks. looking at bilstein or ranchos any prefrences? and should i do one inch longer or 2???

the route of your problem is the add a leaf, it caused the bushing to wear out faster, it will void your warranty, it lowers the resale value on your home, and is best friends with the guy you catch staring at your lady in the supermarket. only solution is take them back out and send them to me, i wont even charge you to take them off of your hands, since i am such a nice guy

on a more serious note, i have monroe shocks on my monte carlo and on my '72 truck, and like them fine. they are affordable also

its not going to void my warranty because their going to "overlook" that its there.

The bilstein 5100 say good for an extra inch on the rear and ride great, I would forget about the rancho unless you drive off road a lot or buy the adjustable 9000

+1 for the Bilsteins. I have them on the front and back and absolutely love the ride. Plus they are lifetime warranty.

I have the same issue, but mine is because I have a 3" rear block and airbags. My factory shocks are sitting at 23 3/8" at ride height. I am having Rancho 5000 series shocks installed next week to give me that extra extended length.

I have had both shocks and think that the Bilsteins are a superior product in every way. They make a shock for stock heights and also lifted.
