On Star App

None. It can be a bit slow at times to send commands and the refresh for fuel level and other data takes forever too but I've never had an actual problem with it. I travel most weeks for work so when it was still cold out I'd start my truck from baggage claim when I got home and by the time I got to the garage I had a nice warm cab. Also, I can tell you that right now (despite my being in New Mexico and my truck being in NH) that it has 2031 miles on it, the tank is 45% full/has 11 gallons left for an estimated range of 188 miles @ 16 MPG. Oil life is 69% and my tires are a touch high at 38 psi across the board. :)

The only other issue (if you can call it that) is that after 5 days of the truck sitting, the app can't "talk" to the truck anymore, you have to start it with the key. That probably isn't an issue for most folks but my truck does spend lots of time at the airport so I run into it now and then.

@ Mike, I am having trouble getting my phone to establish a connection to the truck. I have been in contact with OnStar since April about this and they can't figure it out. I thought maybe it my phone but I tried using my wifes phone and get the same error code. It's been another week and still haven't heard from OnStar on what else we can try. Thanks for your input.

Ditto. The commercial makes it seem instantaneous, but in reality you have to enter a PIN for any functions and then wait 30 seconds for it to actually get the signal. Otherwise, I love it. The remote start is awesome in South Texas.

Mike and Nick, What kind of phone are u using? I have the Thunderbolt and can not get this thing to communicate with the truck. It is getting frustrating.

Take the truck to the dealer. I had these issues and have some threads on it. Bottom line is onstar can't do anything about it on their end you most likely have a setting wrong in the truck or within the onstar system and only a dealer with the assistance of GTAC can fix it.

Onstar tech support cannot do anything to resolve this.

Didn't know about this..... saw this thread and decided to try it. Works great/pretty neat! Didn't take very long(less than 15 minutes) to get it all up and working.

2011 2500HD/I-Phone 3G.

Thanks,

I've got it and as mentioned, it can be a hair slow at times but otherwise no issues. :)

I'm using a Droid X with Verizon. I've gotten the failure to connect before but it's only been when my phone had a poor signal. I assume you've done the configuration process to register your phone with OnStar?

2011 Sierra, iPhone 4. I agree, take it to the dealer.

2010 Yukon 2500 with a iPhone 3GS. Works great. Like others have said it's a little slow at times. At my house I get horrible cell service (which is very frustrating) and sometimes it has a connection error (but it also drops calls at my house).

@ Mike, yah, I've done all of the things OnStar has told me to do to rest the system. I don't know what the dealer can do. I'm sure they will tell me it's OnStars problem. I'll try to hit the dealer this friday.

Depends on the error but the dealer can call gtac who has Onstar specialists that can run data link tests to the vehicle.

Onstar can do nothing about it. They only handle the customer service aspect of it. The connections, hardware, up and down links, software, etc is all operated by GM so I was told by a gtac Onstar specialist, who was able to fix my connection issue within 5 minutes troubleshooting. Wherein I had several cases and over 6 hours troubleshooting with Onstar techs who never fixed anything.

I installed the app to my iPad last night - had no problems with it - although it does tend to lag a bit in terms of response times...
