2003 1500hd Qsteer Rear Rotors & Parking Brake

Hello all, I am trying to replace the rear rotors and pads on my 1500hd quadrasteer.

My issue is, I cannot get the new rotors to fit over the parking brake. I have adjusted the brake inwards as far as it will go even and it just doesn't quite make it.

I found that a zip tie fits perfectly inside the new rotors. The old ones were obviously pretty warn where the shoes are, BUT the zip tie does fit perfectly at the bottom of the rotor (where the brake pads would not have worn the rotor. Yes, zip ties and my eyes are the highest precision measuring tools I own.

Thoughts?

My one thought is are they the correct rotors? Quadrasteer rear rotors and brakes are larger then the fronts... 330mm I believe

That is certainly a possibility because none of the parts stores could give a clear answer as to correct rotors. They all said crew cab w/o 4ws or 4ws w/o crew cab but not both! Comparing brake shoes the ones for crew cab w/o 4ws were clearly the correct ones. The rotors i grabbed were the one labelled for crew cab to match

One thing i CAN say for certain is they are 330mm.

Problem solved :dunno: for future reference to anyone with the same setup the rotors appear to be fairly unique for crew cab/hydroboost brakes/8 lugs/quadrasteer... the pads are not but bring an old one with u if u can. First set brought out at parts store were obviously wrong.

So anyway, the rotors I had were wrong ones. The correct ones were exacly the same except the inside that slides over the parking brake opens up as if it were machined for a larger parking brake. So when I said it looked like the ebrake had worn the rotor it hadn't.

I have part numbers ill throw up here when I get home. Best thing is to call dealer and get gm part #, then u can cross ref at parts store. Although if willing to wait they weren't much more than from parts store.
