I was just finishing up a deal on a trailer here in Edmonton when I ask the salesman where their sales outlet in Slave Lake was. He said they partnerred SL Ford in Slave Lake, and had lost all 11 units there in the fire. From the photo in the Edmonton Journal the dealer's stock looked like a total loss. The company I work for has a small store in Slave Lake and it sounds like every employee lost their home. It must have been one heck of a fire!

As of this morning, there were 1000 firefighters working on this fire and 7000 people are out of their homes. The winds have died down a bit which is helping. As for Slave Lake, it looks like the only thing they can do is rebuild. Too bad Manitoba couldn't send Alberta some of the excess water. The Red Cross is collecting for this disaster.
