Vortec Max Exhaust

Recommended Posts

I just bought an 07 Sierra Crew Cab VortecMax with a MagnaFlow exhaust on it. I have had it for 3 days and cannot stand the drone that I get when the AFM kicks in. Also, this thing is really loud when pulling a trailer. I'm looking for a single exit exhaust, what would you guys recommend? This is my first truck so please bare with me, as I might as some questions that you guys think are simple. Thanks.

Congrats on the new truck. I owned one just like it prior. I HIGHLY recommend Corsa. I had it on my 07 Vmax with ZERO drone and I towed alot. It sounds near factory while cruising and how a nice growl out the back when you get on it. The claim to fame for Corsa is the ZERO drone and it works especially nice with the 6.0 Vmax :) They have two styles, touring and sport. I had the sport and was very happy with it. Not to loud, just loud enough. The touring gives you a slightly louder than stock sound with a low aggressive sound. Most actually think it's too quiet and opt for the sport.

Post up some photos when you get a chance.

I have a 2007 VMAX also. Went thru 2 Gibson kits that were junk and a lot of drone. Get a CORSA and be done with it. The 6.0 motor has a lot more drone than the 5.3.

I also vote for CORSA! Its the only exhaust system I'll run on my vehicles

As with skp05,I also had GIBSON systems on two of my previous trucks ('97 K1500 & '99 K1500) they were junk, starting rusting right away even though they were the stainless systems, and the sound wasn't that impressive.

might be a stupid question but will your Crew Cab short bed Exhaust fit on my Ext Cab Reg Bed??? if so would you be intereted in selling?

Yes, if the wheel base is the same, it will fit. When I got my corsa, I got it gently used from an extended cab and fit my crewcab.

Thanks for the input guys. I was hoping that there was a cheaper solution then spending $900 on exhaust but I guess not. 07VMax, I would have no problem selling it to you. Where are you located at?

Nick,

Another solution would be to have the AFM turned off, this can done either by a custom tune,or there are some handheld tuners that can also turn it off.

My suggestion if you want to turn it off......get ahold of Justin at Black Bear and have him do a custom tune for you,you won't be sorry!

I will be getting a tune- mont likely Black Bear but I want to leave the AFM on.

I thought the same but ended having to send my tune back to get the afm turned off. With the tune and the afm on you will feel the truck buck on the highway as it goes in and out of afm. very annoying.

And Black Bear couldn't do anything except turn it off?

Oh i'm sure he could but whats the point of having a tune if your going to soften it back up like a sponge? Plus once you finally hit the realization that afm doesnt do a damn thing its best turned off.
