Ok i am in need of Instructions for a Personal Audio Link in my 2009 GMC Sierra

I Purchased one and it didnt come with the instructions for Operation.

My Husband installed it and everything seems to be working but it doesnt seem to be accessing playlists or not very much control of my ipod as i thought i would have?

I Would buy them from someone if they have the instructions and want to sell them?

Nope no dip switches or toggles just a red led and rca plugs are there and then the plugs that the ipod and the XM radio adaptor plugs go into....

I had the same problem with mine. I took it in to get programmed and the dealer said the unit was defective. They couldn't talk to the unit with the Tech II. They sent it in for warranty and I installed the new unit myself and it's been working ever since. Although I've noticed recently it sounds like the iPod is turned up too loud but there's no way to adjust the volume of the iPod while it's hooked up to the PAL.

Questions on this device.. as I'm seriously looking into it, however, have been reading many different things with it.

Its going into my 08 Sierra SLT w/XM & steering wheel controls, with the proper rpo code for it to work as per the dealer.

1. I have been reading there's a PAL and a PAL v2.. which one is current? I have also seen different part numbers for 2010+, and pre-2010.

2. How well does this actually work? Ease of use? Steering wheel controls work?

3. Will I have to get it re-programmed with a tech 2 device?

4. Is there a problem still with the "charging voltage" on the unit? (12v for older Apple devices, vs. 5v for newer ones)

The dealer was helpful in finding and can sell me the unit, but was unaware how it functions, OR if it needs re-programming. Any current information would be greatly appreciated.

As handling personal electonics while driving is now illegal in my home province, controlling the music from the iphone is not only annoying, but now against the law.
