Transmission Swap

Hello everyone,

 

I'm trying to get my truck up and running. Tried various things including the Neutral Safety switch but I think my tranny's burnt as the ATF coming out smells burnt.

 

My vehicle is a 2003 K2500HD Chevy Silverado 8ft box

Vin# 1GCHK23123F135219

 

the doner car is a 2005 k2500HD Chevy SIlverado Short box

Vin# 1GTHK23225F848097

 

Would both of these vehicles use the same allison 1000 transmission and would it fit?

After running both Vins, they show the same RPO codes, so it should be a direct swap. And welcome to the site

After swapping the transmission the OBDII code shows incorrect transmission. Also the NSBU for an 03 and 05 apparently are different. Gah

 

And to make matters worse I think it's triggered the anti theft system and now my truck won't even start. Its either the anti theft system or my NSBU isn't in park so the truck won't fire up.

 

Any advice on what direction I should take now?
