Stereo Removal

I have a 1998 ck3500 and want to remove the head unit and put in an aftermarket stereo but running into a problem.

All the other GM radios I have removed have been bolted in and what i can find on the internet says this one should be too but it isn't or at least I haven't found any bolts yet. Does any one have any suggestions?

I have a 97 K1500 and both the head unit and the HVAC controls don't have bolts on them at all. They snap into the dash with plastic clips mounted on either side of the units. Really easy to take them in and out. I don't know if they were different on the 3500 trucks or not. They should have been the same from '96-mid '99 until the new body came out. Don't know if this helps you or not.

They should come out easy, my 98 i had came out pretty easy when i installed a dvd deck

there are to clips on either side that you'll need to squeeze and it will slide right out.

thank you for your replies i'll check that when it gets daylight also replacing the door speakers with sony xplod 4 way 6 1/2 speakers the right side speaker is busted been listin to just left side since i got the truck

Run a 200w amp to those door speakers and you will love them more!
