Damn Transmission Filter Seal

Well ive been messin with this one all day now and I cant get the damn new tranny filter seal into the hole, its almost like its too big for it, I tried everything to get it to seat in there and nothing has work, the tranny kit im using is a pro king I think, its from advanced auto, anyone else ever had this problem?

Stupid question but I have to ask...did you remove the old seal first? I just did my filter last week. I used a large socket and gently drove mine in place with a hammer, it's definitely a snug fit.

Yeah got the old seal out, that was a pain in the ass too, but yeah Ive tried the socket trick and it just seems like it does no want to go in there at all, now if its a snug fit then this is extremely snug for a seal.

Mine was a PITA as well. It kept trying to walk on me, like one side would try and pop out. I finally got it in by holding it perfectly level and whacking the livng crap out of the socket I was using to drive it in. Once I had it started into that hole, it drove in fairly easy after that.

Yeah I finally got it in, what sucks is the damn low ass torque required 8ft pounds?!!? I just made the bolts lightly snug since I dont own a torque wrench that low, too damn expensive!!!
