I'm considering putting marker lights on the HD because she didn't come with them factory...My dad says I'm a #### nut for wanting to put holes in my new truck...I argue that installed correctly they should be fine...Anyways would you guys add the marker lights or just live without them???

Never heard the term Market Lights..do you mean Aux. Roof Lights?  Im putting them on my truck, I figured I would have to drill 13 holes in the roof to install these lights. I've already put in the Aux. Switch and harness.  Havn't had time yet, to put the lights in. I going to measure and measure again to make sure I have them in the right position, I think this is going to be the hardest part.

I added them on my 2002HD and have had no regrets. Redneck- not sure what you mean by "aux. switch"? You should only need the harness and 3 lights. I went to the dealer and carefully measured a 3500, then used masking tape to mark out hole locations on my truck. Most people would think you are crazy drilling in a $34,000 vehicle, but I love mine and they look like they came from the factory. Two tricks: Remove the metal clips from the plastic spacers in the lights and just use the screws and the spacers. The metal clips are designed for square holes punched from the factory; and use clear silicone around all the holes to prevent leaks. :(

I like the looks of them...  I have them on my truck and I think the solid middle light looks pretty cool.

Mine have leaked water though like some other peoples have done too.

Another option is a "moon visor" with the lights already resessed into the fiberglass visor.  I think they look good too.

doesnt the moon vizor require drilling into the top of the cab also?

I think it does...  but if you are drilling because you want lights, then you can get the lights and a visor all in one.  It's just another option...

mello98zss,

The reason for the Aux. Switch, is you can turn the lights on and off independently from the parking lights.

As far as the MoonVisor goes, they have a new one out the Solar Visor from Lund that you do not have to drill into the roof..only the side frames in the door opening under the rubber gasket.  But, I did hear that they flap around in the wind and makes noise at Highway Speed.

Out west here, we call them clearance lights, I think they look sweat!!  I wouldnt dare do it myself though! LOL  I would screw something up.  Good luck, your truck will be AWESOME with them installed, then you can come put some on mine!!!!

I'm on it...would you guys get the factory clearance lights or the 5 seperate lights like on the older ones?

I ordered mine from the factory, but would put in the 5 separate lights if I was doing it, just to be different.  I like the solid middle bar, but like the separate lights better.

I installed the 5 separate lights on my crew cab.  I bought five of the smaller individual lamps made for 2001+ models from the dealership.  It was about $100 more to do it that way, but I like the look of the individual lamps more than the 3-light bar that comes from the factory.  Check my signature for pictures.
