Purchasing But Have Questions , If You Please Could Give Me Some Answe

I have been lurking and searching here but just a little unsure of things.

I am getting ready to purchase a GMC Sierra All-Terrain 4x4 1500 crew cab Z71 . (black) It has a 5.3 AFe engine , BUT the hold up is I am trying to find the same truck with the 3.43 gears instead of the 3.08 gears. I am looking forward to getting back to an American Truck that has some testosterone behind it.

My immediate goal is to tint windows , put a leveling kit on and larger tires (BFG AT's most likely) and do a fog light bulb upgrade.

So first off , do people put a leveling kit on these trucks very often ? What is a good product to look at ?

Fog light bulbs on these trucks might as well be even be there ...lol. I would like to upgrade the bulb to like a 55 watt is this possible / safe to do this ? I live out in the country and having nice bright extra lights on the road is a big plus.

Thank you for your help in advance . I will probably have more questions , but will always try a search first.

Did you mean 3.42 gears? You wont find one with 3.43

RC 2" kit seems to be the winner, check out the suspension forum there are 100's of topics discussing this.

Everyone levels these trucks. It is very common just keep it around 2 inches. 2.5 inches maxes out the suspension more and will cause more problems. Rough Country is the most common because of it ease of installation and price.

As far as the fog lights they are 5202 and no one makes a brighter bulb that I know of. You can either add HID's or mod the housing for a different bulb.

Welcome to the site, and Yes.... your looking for 3.42's... not 3.43's. Most people do the RC 2" leveling kit. It's very easy to install and lows you to fit a little bigger tire. Unfortunatly the GMT-900's are harder to fit bigger tires than the GMT-800's were/are. You can still go with a 33" tire without to much issue when installed with at least a 2" leveling kit. You can go with the 2.5" but anything over that and people start having issues with ball joints wearing to fast.

Can't help you with the bulb for the fog light, but with a little search, I'm sure you'll find exactly what you need.

Photo photo's when you pick it up.
