2005 Chevy Truck Speedo Issues

Hello All,

 

We have a 2005 Chevy truck, 5.3L, 4WD, 4 door, short bed. It has been having some issues with the speedo reading the right MPH. Sometime the needle will jump around other times it will stick around 25MPH and when it is stuck like that is acts like where it was stuck is 0MHP. Anyone ever see this before?

Could be the infamous IP cluster problem. Any other gauges acting up? Several model year instrument clusters have had problems with defective stepper motors. GM has been replacing them if they are covered. 7 years or 70k miles from original in-service date, has usually been the cutoff
