Howdy... Help For A Newbie Looking To Purchase A 2010 Tahoe..

I'll be trading my trusty 2005 Cadillac SRX for a Tahoe shortly; 4WD Certified Pre Owned , 2010 or later in LT or LT trim. I have some questions and after lurking and searching I thought I'd tap the expertise here:

 

 

1. For those who have purchased a GM CPO vehicle, how does the 12-month 12,000 mile bumper work? If the vehicle has the original warranty left on it still (many 2010s I'm looking at still do), does the 12 month, 12,000 mile just get added onto the the original warranty? For example, if I purchase a CPO 2010 Tahoe with 25,000 miles with the original in service date of May 2010, the original warranty is for 3 years, 36,000 miles so does the CPO extend the warranty to 4 years and 48,000 miles so I would have until May of 2014 and 23,000 miles left on the balance? I have searched but have not found anything explicit on this.
   
2. I'll be visiting dealerships over the holiday weekend, most of the Tahoe's available are fleet/rental returns and the inventory is low (as with all used cars). Is this a good time of the year, when do the fleet/rental agencies turn them over?
   
3. Any specific issues/problems I should be looking for? I'm aware of the rear tire/suspension/drivetrain vibration issue. What are some of the problematic areas I should look carefully at?
   
4. The age old question... Tahoe or Suburban? I needed a bigger vehicle and after taking a long weekend golf trip with some friends in a Suburban I was sold. 4 big guys with gold clubs, luggage and coolers on a 500 mile round trip... the ride was excellent, comfortable and refined hardly felt like a truck. That said... I've been going back/fourth between a Tahoe and a Suburban and decided that the Suburban would be a tad too big for the wife (petite 5'4"), the garage... Questions are... Does the Tahoe ride as well? Obviously I'll be test driving it but a 20 minute test drive is not a 5hr road trip. Will I have buyers regret because I'll miss the extra cargo space? One key difference is that I think with the Suburban I can load skis in the back whereas with the Tahoe I'd have to put a rack on the roof.

Our 2008 has almost 27K miles. Only issue was a faulty gas cap at like 1K. Knock on wood none since has been a great SUV. The Tahoe is plenty big for us (me my wife, 1-1/2 yr old son and 100lb black lab). If we have, no I mean when we have another child I am sure we will investigate a larger vehicle, aka suburban. Probably wait until the redesign in 2014?

The back windows go all the way down in a Suburban, not so in a Tahoe. I reaally disliked that.
