3/2 Leveling Lift Tire Size Questions

Recommended Posts

Posted

i recently purchased a 2001 2500HD ecsb 4wd with the 6 liter. its currently sitting on stock wheels and 285 michelins. I have 2 questions.

1. i have been looking at a 3/2 leveling lift kit on ebay and am curious if anyone has any experience with this lift and if so is it worth the trouble to install and a quality lift kit. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevy-3-2-L...sQ5fAccessories

2. i plan on installing a set of american racing chrome 670 18x8.5 rims with a 15 offset rather i install the lift or not but my question is what tire size will fit and look good with and without the lift. i have been looking at Nitto Terras 275/70R18.

I put different keys on my truck to level the front with the back. I only had to raise my front about 1 3/4" to level it and to tell you the truth, I don't think I would want to raise it much more than that because it puts a lot of stress on the joints in the drive shafts. On your truck you might be able to just get away with cranking the torsion bar bolts to level your front. I am currently running 285/75/16's and I don't think I could go much bigger than that or things would start rubbing.
