Noise When Started And Turning

94 Chevy 1500 w/ V6

When I start my truck (hot or cold) occasionally I'll here a noise up front. When I turn my wheels, it gets louder. I've replaced the power steering pump thinking that would resolve the issue. Well, it didn't. Whats got me baffled is it happens intermittently. I can drive it for an hour and start it up 5 minutes later and it CAN happen or I can get in it in the morning and it CAN do it. Keyword being CAN. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. It's not a grinding or squealing noise. Almost like a knock or a pump running out of fluid. (Yes, I checked the power steering fluid and it's right where it should be). Any ideas of what it may be?

  Any time I get around 1,100–1,300 lbs of tongue weight, the rear of my truck ends up more than 3+ inches lower than the front. In my opinion, that's not a safe situation. The RAS completely solved that issue for me. Not only did it level the truck under load, but it also improved the unloaded ride quality. As an added benefit, it virtually eliminated axle wrap and noticeably reduced sway, both when towing and when driving unloaded. For my setup, the RAS has been one of the best suspension upgrades I've made.

  After driving back from South Carolina this morning, I can confidently say the unloaded ride is considerably better with the RAS installed than it was without it. The truck feels more stable, smoother over bumps, and overall more controlled. I wasn't expecting such a noticeable difference when unloaded, but so far I'm very impressed with the improvement.

  I'd much rather them add back the foot well lights before the dang glovebox one. In the 2 1/2 years I've had my truck. I'd say the glovebox has been open about 10 times.

  I'm guessing moving the headlight switch to virtual was for cost savings. The headlights are already controlled via the canbus so why not eliminate the need to manufacture a switch and take up real estate. I prefer a physical switch but I also realize I don't actually use it 99% of the time. The 1% of the time I do want it, I'm guessing it's a pain to turn the lights on. Probably 1-2 screens deep in the infotainment just like in the newer Colorados.
