I have a 99 Tahoe. the horns don't work. the fuse blows. I get 12v accross the fuse terminal. What could be wrong? I'm thinking grounded somewhere. My diagrams in my Haynes manual don't show horns. Thanks

Yep, grounded (shorted) somewhere. Either in the horn button itself, or one or both of the horns, as you say you have multiple horns. An outside chance would be a worn wire.

Typical circuit is battery/fuse/horn button/horn/ground. :banghead:

I forgot to mention that I still get 12v at the fuse with the horns disconnected. Even with the relay out.

Well I kind of figured it out. The way it is wired anyway. Ground/horn button/fuse(always hot) / relay/ horns/ ground. So somewhere between the fuse and horn button is shorting out. Gonna need to go to the dealer and get the correct wiring diagram.

Both horns are good. Well fuse blew again today. I hit a bump. lol I really haven't spent much time figuring this out. Once I find the real problem I will most deffinately will post up. Might turn into a common prob.

Well finally was able to work on the horn prob. Metered the fuse terminal and found 0V. Put good fuse in and horns work. Go to work the next day and they don't work. Came home looked at it again and got 12V at the fuse terminal. I pulled and pushed all wire harness and no change. So I used a thick wire and put it in the fuse term. Heard a very quick spark sound and now I have the horn working for 4 days now. Sound came from the location of the horn by the battery. If it happens again where the fuse blows, I will know where to start looking. just sucks not having the time to fix things the right way. Now I have clicking noise coming from the engine area. Looked at that and it turned out to be a bad a/c compressor. A/C on -noise A/C off no noise.
