Denali Headlights

Hey Guys:

 

I have an 06 sierra 1500 and id like to put the denali headlights from the suv's on my truck. I have been doing some research and have discovered that they are plug and play physically. ( they will fit in the original place the original sierra headlights sat) My question is regarding the wiring. I DO NOT want HID's. all i want is the original projector lights to shine. I have not seen the back of the denali headlight. That being said.. will a oem denali headlight being used in an oem way hook up to my factory sierra wiring harness. by just clipping my plug into the bulb?

I have a 05 Denali and there is nothing special about the bulbs or wiring I think. Maybe cross reference the bulb numbers between your truck and a Denali and see if they are the same. I think mine are 9005 and 9006. You just might have to do some rearranging, but I'm not 100% sure on this.

in short, yes it will.

 

Only difference between the two headlights are the bulbs are different. For example, on one truck the low beams are 9005's, and on the other they are 9006's. The high beams are either 9005's in one truck and the other being 9006's. I'm too lazy to walk outside to check, but i know they are different. Check on a headlight bulb retailer website and you will find out easily.

Lows are 9006 as that has the painted "tip". 9005s are all clear and usually a high beam. The Denali trucks may use HIR bulbs in which case they'll be 9011/12s I think. Don't know the order on those though for high/low.

My 02 uses the 9005's. You should be able to use your bulb in the Denali Headlight. If not you would need a connector for from the Denali's headlight wiring harness. It should be an easy mod.

Yes, plug and play. It has a built in wiring harness to convert the plug for a 9006 bulb to a 9005 bulb.

Before I retroited mine for an hid projector I had them in my truck. They are a straight swap, and when you get a set, make sure they come with the harness that is attached to them like the guys said above. Denali lights have 9005 hi and low, Sierra lights have 9006 low and 9005 hi. A 9005 will fit in a 9006 headlight, but not the other way around.

i just did this. i was unaware it came with the adapter so before i got the lights delivered i clipped the 9006 plug and spliced on a 9005 for each side. they look good. mine are black behind though
