Ive got a 07 Quad cab,5.3 Sierra 4x4 with the G80 diff but it also has traction control. Kinda wondering why. If the G80 does its job then why traction control!

Also is the front dif a G80 as well????

G80 is for offroad one wheels spins enough it engages the g80 which pits power to both wheels for better traction. Traction control would b better used onroad when the wheels start to spin it reduced power to them to stop from spinning further more. Basically g80 helps you gain traction while spinning the tires like you would in the mud. TC helps compensate for driver error on the road where you don't want to spin the tires . And no the front diff is open
