Fog Light Hid

I have a 2010 Chevy silverado 1500 Z71 4x4, black and I have been reading topics on fog light kits because my truck does not have them. My question to you all is there a kit out there that has the HID fog lights and the end caps, attach hardw, lens, etc. or do I have to buy them separate ( Factory fog light kits from dealer and a HID fog light kit )? I have trying to decide to upgrade my truck lighting to all HID anyway so I fig I would start here.

Thanks

You can buy a fog light kit from the dealer that gives you everything you need to add factory fog lights, but you'll need to buy the HID kit separate.

check out spencershids.com they got a 5202 HID kit for fog lights. all the parts are made by Phillips so they are top quality. i would recommend you request the 25w ballasts so you don't burn anything up. they also have a bundle kit to where you can get the H11 for the low beams and the 5202 for the fog lights at a reduced cost. their prices are very reasonable compared to what i've seen Phillips brand kits go for.

most HID kits come with digital ballasts nowadays. do you know what brand or seller the kit they were talking about is from?

2010TexasEdition: Philips does not make HID kits. There are companies out there that are selling Philips branded HID kits however these kits are made in China (not Germany). The HID kit that you are linking too is far from being a Philips branded HID kits. There are tons of fakes in the market these days and that my friend is a VERY BAD fake. The ballasts in that kit are cheap, generic ballasts that are commonly found in ebay HID kits selling for <$50.

philips makes bulbs, from what i'm finding on their website. but not ballasts. i guess it all depends on the quality of the ballast in the kit.

That website sells HID Kits that use Chinese made bulbs+Ballasts. The kits are not made by Philips and are not made in Germany.

its a really tough choice. when looking at these kits, you just gotta go with your gut feeling. do you just pick the cheapest one because that's what you can afford? do you go with the expensive one because you know for a fact its reliable? or do you go with one that you find a good price on, with a good warranty, and from a company with a good reputation?

all depends on how much your willing to spend! you can get a low grade kit direct from china from a sketchy company for less than $50. you can go with a kit from a good company that offers a good warranty on the parts they sell, for a decent price. or you can spend top dollar on a top of the line kit.

but one thing i've learned is DON'T BUY A KIT THAT CLAIMS IT'S FROM PHILIPS, CUZ IT'S NOT!

There is no such thing as an HID kit that is made by Philips.

I'm naturally biased recommending our HID kits however we have been selling HID kits since 2001 and have been a supporting vendor on this forum for approximately 8 years. If we were not selling a quality product or taking care of our customers we would not be here...

GM-trucks.com members get a $25 discount on our HID kits by using coupon code GMT upon checkout.
