Spark Plug Gap

Good day all, I was wondering if anyone knew what the sparkplug gap size is for the 5.3L engine is?  I called the service center at the dealership to ask, and they told me not to worry about it until 100K miles.  But I say "hogwash!" I looked at one yesterday and they were covered!!  I think its easy enough to change them out, I mean they cost what 30 bucks? Why wait until 100K miles? Anyway enough ranting.  Any help will be appreciated.  Oh, and does anyone have an opinion on what brand to use???

Never mind, I just found out that the gap is to be .05  

But anyways, I would still like to know what ya'll prefer.

Ask CMNTMXR.  Apparently GM ignitions are finicky concerning what type of platinum spark plugs you use.
