Pics of heater controls?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have or know where I can get pics of my heater controls? Maybe from some manuals?

I have posted this before but a picture is worth a thousand words, since my heater controls have come apart, I need to see how to re-join them.

To be more specific, there is a small black box just near the gas peddle that has an electrical plug on it and a lever. This lever has a spring on it and at the end of it is a square shape. It is disconnected along with the same type of hook coming from higher up. Does anyone know how this goes or have a pic from a manual???

Sounds like your mode actuator has a broken coupler.  Check the end of the end of the lever (coupler) for breaks.  Might have to have someone operate the controls while you watch the movement.  It is possible that the spring has broken from the the hook from above.  See if you can operate the hook manually.  If the internal plenum doors are binding, that might be the reason for the disconnection.  If you can snap a pic of it, I might be able to better help.

Hey Carguru,

Thanks for the reply. Yes electric mode actuator sounds reasonble. the upper lever can be moved by hand easily but the other one is attached to that actuator so it is a little harder to operate. I have not gotten into it too heavy,,,like take actuator off. There is a linkage at the end of the lever that attaches to the actuator which to me looks to hook up to the upper plenum but it must have lost a screw? I wish I could take a pic but I do not own a digital camera. I was hoping someone else to take a pic for me???

topo42u,

If removing the actuator, there should be 3 screws-2 on either side and one at the bottom to the right of the connector (if the actuator I'm thinking about is correct-grand piano shaped with 3 mounting ears).  I would run it without removing it first to determine whether or not it has developed a problem.  You should be able to see a silver shaft rotate on the back side of the actuator.  I'll see if I can't find some info for you on this. :thumb:

Hi again,, well my problem is not the actuator but the lever that attaches to it with the spring. It looks like it goes up further. The lever has come apart. the actuator is fine. I just need to know how the levers join together and on the plenum.

thanks.
