Way to small for the truck, looks pretty stupid to me, if you had a bigger more rugged looking one that go for it

I have the same basket for my Avalanche (Rage brand right?)

 

I noticed a sharp drop in MPG with it on, even with the air deflector, and it makes noise something awful.. so I only use it when we go camping. I just bought a second set of crossbars as it is easier to mount by sliding the cross bars up the factory roof rack, than to take the clamps on and off that rack..

 

 

and it isn't too small, it's 52.5" long which is only about 8 inches short of the cab length (at least on the AV, not counting the rear plastic sail panels) and it is 44" wide which is the same width of the factory roof rack on the AV.
