I have a 18x9 wheel right now, but I'm thinking about getting rid of the Toyo's for some 325/60/18 Baja Atz's. Do you guys think I would need a wider wheel, like 18x10 or 20x10 since the tire is a 13.50? Thanks

Toyo recommends a 9.5" wide wheel for that size tire. Not sure if you know, but if you go to the manufactures website, they list recommended rim sizes for each tire. Very helpful when doubting.

The general rule of thumb is no more than 4" of difference between the width of the wheel and the width of the tire. You would be .5" over that. It's not a huge deal, but it's not recommended.

This guy wants to do a straight trade, what do you guys think? 20x9 Eagle Alloy wheels 0 offset and 35.12.50 Atz's, he said he has had them a little over a month.

I'm going to throw a body lift on, and was thinking about trying out some 35's. I don't really care for the guys wheels, but do want the tires. If we swap, I would buy some Fuels and sell the Eagles. The tires are about $400 a pop, so I think it would be a good trade?

The atz have more of a mild trade pattern. Why dont you just get a set of trail grapplers. 295/70R18 and sell your tires.

 

I know for a fact those trail grapplers are around $270/ea. Bang for the buck.

If you're wanting to go up to a 20 anyway, then go for it and sell the wheels (I don't like them either). Otherwise, just sell your tires and buy some 35's for your Monsters.

My only serious beef with 20" tires is the cost. You will be shelling out pretty damn good to get rims and tires. About fitting: It will close. At least that is what I have read.

I know what you mean. I hate spending more money on the truck, but wouldn't mind it being a little higher. If I trade this guy, I would get almost new tires. That would mean I would only have to fork out some cash for new wheels and the body lift. I could sell the Eagles also to get back a little money. I just can't decide if I want to go through all that.

Yep, looks damn good with the 295's. I just can't figure out how he is running those on a 0 offset wheel, mine are on a +18 offset wheel and rub at full lock in reverse. Those are 1.5" larger than my Toyos, I still think I would need a body lift.

I dont know man. you know what I PMed him about a month ago and this is what he wrote to me "My tires rub a little at full flex when off road,"

 

That tire is probably a little bit more narrow then yours. Before I put the BL on I would get a 1" - 1.5" leveling kit in and put those with the ad a leafs in the back.

 

to install a $60 leveling kit and get a alignment would be a lot less hassle to get 1.5" then adding the BL.

If you put the ad a leafs in you will get about another 1.5" in the back.

 

I was looking at your lift and I believe you could add that leveling kit since most of your lift was from the knuckle.

      You're better read than that Atlas. 😏   British science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke formulated three adages that are known as Clarke's three laws, of which the third law – that "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" – is the best known and most widely cited.   Stribeck and the pivotable Hersey Number isn't voodoo nor snake oil. That part is physics. It's what marketing and bean counters do with it that is snake oil and voodoo.    Stribeck is the relationship between Hersey and the Coefficient of Friction. Within the Hersey Equation if viscosity and viscosity is 'Dependent' on.......heat.......and.......viscosity index or the temperature to viscosity slope.    Specifically Hersey is the viscosity AT THE TEMPERATURE IN THAT LOCATION FOR THAT SLOPE.   Hydrodynamic lubrication exist when the film thickness in the location is 3X the Ra roughness of the surface. This is irrespective of the hardness of the substrate. To obtain that thickness X viscosity is required for Y velocity at Z load. That's a lot of moving parts. It is also impossible to maintain in an ICE but nearly possible with a turbine under constant load.    What does that mean? Error heavy and operate light. Wear is inevitable but the rate of wear and the milage obtainable are a function of prevailing conditions and HABITS. The only penalty is viscous drag and at fractions so low as to be well worth the effort. Double the life, half the manufacturing carbon foot print. Greed is the only impediment.    The materials generated by SwRI are the RESULT not an estimation or a hypothesis.    Don't delude yourself sir, EV's have as many pitfalls as ICE's. We just don't know what they are yet and it will take longer to sort as MARKETING and GREEDY CEO's have had more time to polish the turd they are selling.

      You can always count on greed to prey on ignorance and stupidity.    Friend bought a 2019 Ford Flex and asked me about using Valvoline R&P 5W30 in it. Told him give the miles on it and the fact it wasn't yet using oil that it was a good plan. He uses a Valvoline quick change shop for his oil service.   First they tell him that isn't the oil the OEM recommends. He told them he didn't care what the OEM thought. Then they floated the, "But it will void your warranty"    His reply was it's a 2019, there is no warranty and informed them their knowledge of the law was lacking.    Then they tell him 'But it will ruin your motor"!.    Mine to ruin he says. Finally they give in and charge him 150% the semi-syn price    Point it the brainwash is so embedded that even the service industry is drunk on their swill. The public is right behind them. Echoing the same lies on every forum and media platform. If the end goal is indeed EV then I'd say that ship is about built.
