Is This My Temp Sensor For Rear View Mirror?

I'm wanting to upgrade my manual onstar mirror to the temp/compass one. I have the 16pin harness but it only has maybe 4 or 5 wires going into it so i'm sure i'll have to do some wiring. The pic below shows what looks to me to be the temp sensor. the wiring for it goes into a bigger bundle though so I couldn't tell if it was wired to anything. Thanks

Thats the outside temp that ends up in the compass mirror.

Thanks for you reply. following the wires looks to be a PITA so hopefully i can just splice into it .

been doing some searching on wiring and i see nothing that calls for the wires i have going into the temp sensor, light green and dark green. all of the threads and google talk of a green wire with white stripe, and black wire. anyone know what harness I need to get?

I want to do the same thing for my 2011 Silverado LS. which rear view mirror did you buy and where/how much. good luck.

wires don't go directly to the mirror, that would make it way too simple and easy. They go to a junction block some where, then probably looped thru the BCM

haven't bought the mirror yet, but i believe its the gentex 511 mirror with onstar,auto dim, etc
