Factory Navigation Questions

im trying to add a gm factory nav to an 08' 3500 w/t truck i have

 

1.does gm make a factory nav radio for trucks with-out bose [built-in amp]

2.do all trucks with a center console [2 bucket seats] have amps?

3.do any trucks with-out consoles have amps ?

As far as I'm aware, GM does not make a navi that can be installed without a factory (BOSE) amp. We've installed them before using aftermarket amps, but it's a real pain the butt (mainly noise issues).

 

All center console equipped trucks/SUV's DO NOT have amps.

 

Trucks without center consoles DO NOT have amps.

search "advent" on this forum and read through the threads on that one. it is plug and play, cheaper than the factory nav, and looks like the stock unit. there are a few pros and cons on using each unit, you just gotta read up and decide which better suits you!

thanks, i just found the ''advent'' units,,im usally a factory guy,,but this could be a way to go,,i'm also adding power windows and losks,so im changing the dash and door harnesses,so the center console thing isn't a real problem,but im open to learn anything else too
