Honestly, your best bet is a new passport or Valentine... There are no true legal Jammers made... If you are really wanting a jammer, do some searching on the 'net and try to find instructions for one you can make using components from Radio Shack, etc. I knew a guy one time who in his, SWEET ZR1  , had a Jammer that was mounted on the bottom side of his hood that someone made for him that not only had the jamming feature but could also somehow (dont ask me how) bounce back a signal that would show up on radar as whatever speed he had set it to...   In other words, he could be running 100+mph and bounce back a signal of 55mph/ or 75/mph or whatever! I actually saw it work one time in a construction zone where we were following him at around 70mph, and when we passed one of the little "watch your speed" radar speed indicators, it showed a steady 45 when he passed, followed by my 70something   The only problem with it was,that if you forgot to change your setting frequently to whatever the speed limit may be, like 35 in town, you might accidentally be clocked at 75 or something cruising through a residential!!!

I would like to have one myself. A lot of people will tell you they don't work, but I have had officers tell me that they do. If they don't work. I think that it's strange the the state of Illinois would erect signs on it's borders telling you they are prohibited in commercial vehicles.

 

I know the company that makes the "Phazer" will pay for a ticket if you should get one as long as it's not considered reckless driving.

Im pretty sure nearly every-state has a law against radar detectors in commercial vehicles... As for jammers, Im not doubting what you heard, but Id like to see one legally work... ???

The signs comming into IL. read. "The use of radar detectors and JAMMERS is prohibited in commecial vehicles."

 

I know the Phazer detector/jammer combo run about $350 to $400. So you are probably going to have a hard time getting someone who spent that much to admit that it doesn't work.

 

I suppose you could see if they have a money back gaurantee.
