Adding Car Seat On Leather Rear Seats

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, i've been putting an old towel down under the car seat and when I take it out there are big marks left behind that take awhile to go away. I believe over time it's going to permenantly effect the leather, what are you guys doing about this? I have a 2010 ltz crew cab black on black z71 appearance package. Also anyone "running" an all leather car seat for the kid? I'd like to find a cheap black leather car seat!

I found one of these:

Got it either at Target or Babies R Us. It helps with catching kid debris, and it also spreads a little bit of the load from a properly tightened seat. Even with it in place, there are marks left on the seat when I remove it. Leaving it off for a few days will give the seat enough time to return to its original shape. Gotta say though, I love my kids but I can't wait until they're free of these darn things.

I've had the same thing in my truck for the last year, works great. It catches most of the stuff he spills back ther also. Only about $25 too!

I have something like this on all my child seats since 2005. Way easier to clean up by folding it and washing it. No permanent damage. Pick them up at Target, Walmart, etc for under $15ea.

The rear seats are not Leather from GM unless you have had them installed. They are called Pleather the same material as the side & back of the rest of the seats.

I too use a similar product as shown above. Got our at target (eddie bauer) for like $15. I have one in my truck and in my wife Tahoe. Works great. I can post a pic tonight when I get home

Stupid question, but are you placing the car seat in the center of the back seat or on the left/right? I never had issues with mine in the center leaving any marks. Different story once my second one was born, had to split them up so yes it did leave imprints of the car seat, but they would go away if I took the seats out for a long duration of time.
