Squeak Sound Coming From Dash?

I can't take the chirp/squeak type sound any more. I've found some topics on here and people say it comes from the windows, leaf springs, front end, etc. It happens NON-STOP while I'm driving when I hit the slightest bump OR if the truck just floats up and down on the highway. Chirp, chirp-chirp, chirp, chirp. The only way I can describe it is a cricket.

It happens in all conditions, heat/cold, wet/dry, bumpy or flat road, windows up or down, ac/heat on or off, it doesn't matter. It sounds like it is coming in the middle of the dash somewhere where the full console meets the dash. The truck only has 4500 miles on it, the dealer has heard it and can't find it either, eventually telling me 'well, it's a truck' and I'd probably just have to deal with it.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you fix it?

Mine does it. It comes from the the clips holding the dash together getting weak and letting the plastic move. I have thought about pulling some panels and may be spraying some silicone where they meet.

Ok guys...... I am the guy that CAN NOT SOUND SQUEAKS or RATTLES... 2 milliseconds of it and I'm hunting; pushing, pulling forcing paper, wiggling bumping, removing stuff. Hunting the noise........

I keep at all times two or three rolls of 3M Squeak Reduction Tape (3M stocking number 06356), in my tool box.

Any place you have plastic meeting plastic, plastic meeting metal, metal meeting metal; in a way that it could possible rub or vibrate..... put a layer of this stuff there and magic.... It will no longer make noise.

I have had people bring me vehicles, to drive and remove squeaks, too many times to count.

The only noises you should have is, Drive train, tires, wind and exhaust. Music if you choose.... Anything else should not be happen.....

Thanks for that info. I printed out the info on the tape. Too bad you don't live near me because I'd pay somebody who can fix squeaks, rattles & buzzes. I already give the guys at my dealer a big tip whenever I bring a car in for stuff like this, even if it's technically warranty work.

I bought a new Chevy Cruze this summer and now I have to teach myself how to lower the headliner and take off the door panel. It's either get rid of the sounds or get rid of the car. Stuff like this totally ruins my driving enjoyment.

Ya, hunting squeaks, rattles, buzzing is an art form.....

I hunted a squeak for a couple years on my Crown Vic...... I don't drive it much..... But every time I drove it I was almost drove to the point of stopping.... When I do drive that car its 4 or 5 minutes and I'm out of it. Transmission went out when the car was in 09...... Its an 04 and it started around 06........ I was really busy when the transmission died, so I let a friend build it.... He called me and said something to the nature of I all but had to cut the cross member out of the car.... Later I found out he chained the cross member to the ground and lifted the car on his lift..... when it broke loose a piece of slag rock was found wedged in.... There was my squeak..... I had already narrowed it down to the frame somewhere. Just hadn't had enough time to look long enough to find it.

Ya, if your around South Mississippi.... I'm here..
