Hi all

Whats the best way to get to the rear of my stock stereo?   I need to install a cd changer and need to access the antenna wire.   Any advice would be appreciated!

Odds are, you will have to remove the stereo. Its not that hard, just be careful when removing the plastic on the dash.

It (the dash bezel) just pops right off dude.

 

i put an Alpine reciever and CD changer in our 2002 HD yesterday and it was about an hour job.

There is a antenna junstion right above the glove box. But its actually easier to remove the radio than get easy access above the glove box. Only reason I know this is on my 2001 a buzzard took out my antenna at its base and I had to replace it. Buy the way its much easier to replace the antenna with the fender off. My hands still have scars from that install.

Thanks for the info.  So this dash bezal will pop right off?   I'm guessing I'll just pull firmly but gently from underneath??  Does the whole dashboard bezal come off??  Thanks again for your help.

I had mine off this weekend. It came off real easy, a thought it was going to be a PITA, but it wasn't. Just work your way around, start at the corners. Take your time and you will have no problems.

If you go to http://www.installdr.com you will be able to find and print off complete instructions on accessing the radio, removing, and installing a new one. - Dave
