I think it is weather related, all week it was above 60 and no noise, today it was about 47 and it clunked 3 times.

I was thinking the same thing. I first noticed it when I got back from a roadtrip. I left in the middle of Sept and got back on Oct 7, and its turned colder here. Truck wasnt driven for a month. It never once made that noise before it got colder.

I thought at first it was the Weston chrome steps. My noise is identical to your descriptino except it is on the passenger side towards the rear.

One other thing, my truck was bumped in a parking by a woman who backed into it. she pushed the bumper in about 1/2 inch. Body shop pulled it out. They did go over every bolt under neath the truck to make sure they were tight too.

My truck did the same thing for a while. After about 7 or 8 trips to the dealer they finally replaced the entire leaf spring. Noise was gone. It would sqeak most of the time, but would also clunk now and again. Hope you figure it out soon! I know how annoying those noises can be.

I had the leaf springs replaced at around 5K miles but it was a different feel/noise

Did your noise occur when you were making a turn decelerating or excelerating? Where did you get the HID's?

It made the noise any time the leaf spring would flex. So yes for both of those questions. Mainly only heard it at low speeds though. I got my HID's through DDM.

I crawled under the truck this am cause yesterday the noise really ticked me off, this is what I found around the bolts hold the bed on the frame. Ryan could you look at your truck and see if you have similar issue? It looked like the bed is cocked 1/4 inch on the right vs the left. I checked the bolts on the driver side, and they had no marks.

Im going to attach the files instead of making an image.

Where did you take the picture at? I can check tomorrow. Truck is in the garage and the floor is all went as it was raning/snowing today

It was taken under the frame where the cab meets the pickup bed.

I found the problem on my truck, it was not the pictured bolts. It turned out to be the Weston Steps on the passenger side. I took everything off, including the brackets. I have driven it 20 miles and its gone. Now I will figure out which one caused the noise. I went to town in the truck last nite with my wife and was really embarrassed at the noise. Terrible. Anyhow its gone and I will find out how to keep it gone including sending an email to Weston.

I know this is an old post but this issue is present in alot of 2011 GMC Sierra's. Did the dealer ever figure out what is causing this clunk? I have a 2011 Sierra Crew cab 4.8l with the 4 speed trans and I am getting the clunk. It seems to occur when Im turning. It does not happen all the time but enough to pi$$ me off!
