Need Help With Wipers!

I have a 2007.5 2500HD Duramax LMM. I believe the wiper motor, arms, etc. are the same on all of the full size GM trucks, excluding the rain sensing wipers which I don't have. My wipers just recently stopped working, and I am having trouble getting them going. I checked and swapped in a new fuse, even though the old one appeared fine. The manual doesn't list a relay for anything related to the wipers, so I figured the motor must have just died.

 

I tried putting in a new wiper motor, but still have nothing and decided to leave the factory one in, since it appears that is not the problem. I guess that means it's down to the wiring OR the multi-function switch which I know is expensive. The other functions on the stick like blinkers, hi-beams, and windshield washer work fine, just not the wipers.

 

I do almost all my own work, but electrical is my weakness. Any suggestions!?!?

what kind of wiper motor did you buy? if it wasn't not direct replacements, that might have been the problem.

 

rockauto.com has remanufactured ones for $70. you'll have to search for a 2008, since there system only detects the old body style 2500 for that category.

I purchased a direct replacement for an 08 model year. The wire harness was the same and it appeared to be identical, but had no result when I plugged it in. I'm stumped unless there is some relay I'm not aware of that could be factoring in.

This system has 3 relays for the wiper system, however they are PCB relays (printed circuit board) and not serviceable...... well except with UBEC replacement
