what is that box directly out from the throttle body on the intake tube? i noticed gmt-800 avalanches have a weird box type thing too yet my 5.3 does not

That would be a Baffle. My GM Performance CAI will take care of that.

Its titled an 11 but seems to have the 2012 front end The chrome bumper caps with silver/grey fascia were available as an option later in the 2011MY. It has the 2011 grill.

That is not the same truck that your dealer had posted. Your's definitely is a 2011, the one posted was a 2012 with a step.

No it's the same one. I had them remove the steps because I didn't like them, and that took $700 off of the price.
