There should be a law against that much chrome or bling on the front end of that truck.

Haha I like it. It's a lot better then just having the piece in the middle chrome. IDK what GM was thinking on that one because it was a stupid idea.

I like it... although.. the jury's out on the chrome bug deflector with me. I've just never been a fan of them on any truck. JMO :dunno:

Congrats!

As a challenge, see how much you can keep your foot out of that 6.2. I did during a bit of a road trip this past weekend and averaged 16.9 mpg. I've gotten better but I did the best I could, ya see. LOL! That was keeping it below 80 on the expressway and right at 62 on the rural highway roads but nearly all of it was very hilly and some of it was city driving as well. Oh and one quick 2 mile squirt down a two track down a powerline. Had to give the Rancho's a work out.

Haha yea that was on my other truck which didn't have as much chrome on it. I like it alot better than the Black ones. They seem to get nasty looking over time where as long as I keep the chrome one clean and waxed it looks good. As for mileage I'm impressed, It has over 600 Miles on it now, with mixed driving Averaging 15.4 MPG. Theres a good bit of hills around my area, and I've been told I drive like an old man so that probably helps some.

I hear you but where I am from, ton of bugs and it does its job! And keeps rock chips down. Flip side is ton of wind noise on hwy. Love the truck, I forsee a 6.2 in my next truck ahha. I hope GM doesn't screw up the new 2013/14 trucks.

Yea my last truck had a ton of chips on it from not having the guard on it to begin with, I'm not making that mistake again. The only downside is like you said the wind noise, and the weather stripping flapping. Great job on that one GM!:banghead:

Its called aerodynamics. They designed the truck to not have any additions to the front end. You added an accessory. I have no issues with my low profile bug deflector

If the paint wasn't so crappy there wouldn't be a need for "additions" Ford and Dodge doesn't flap in the wind. Seems like poor design to me, but at least the rest of the truck is done pretty good.

A friend of mine has the Dodge accessory bug deflector on his '11 Ram and it has wind noise just the same as I've heard from every brand of truck with a full size bug deflector on it, imo. The low profile ones are the only way to go if you don't want the extra wind noise.

Hmmm. A guy I work with has a 2010 Ram Sport, and he said it doesn't make any noise. It was already on his truck so maybe its a low profile one then he didn't say? The F150 I test drove didn't make any noise. Not really a big deal anyhow just need some double sided tape put under the weather stripping.
