Where to place the ballast for HID

i just installed my ddm hid, on my gmt 900, i put one ballast on the second battery plate the other on a support bracket next to the headlight, i really want to know if there is a safer place for them, the reason for the mounting spots were based on the length of the relay harnes, i am thinking bout lengthenining to hide the ballsts a little better. the battery mounting plate had water on it this morning after driving in the rain so it is suseptable to water.

no place is really better than another. the ballasts are shockproof and waterproof. If you start splicing the kit to lengthen you will then be susceptible to arc and flicker. I would just leave them

well i would be splicing the relay harness not the ballast to bulb do u think it would still arc n flicker, and the back of the connectors dont look very waterproof, where did u put urs?

Keep it away from the battery if you can. I had a bad experience with mine getting too close. I definitely agree it's not very easy to mount them in a good spot.

so does anyone know if i can splice the relay without it being a prob the one i got has short wires and doesnt allow me to hide stuff very well or mount the ballasts where i want.

Splicing into the relay wires shouldnt be a problem
