2001 tahoe died while driving and now won't start

My 2001 Tahoe died on my wife while coming down the canyon, now it wont start. I have full power (radio and lights) and security light doesn't stay on when I turn the ignition. It sounds like it wants to start but won't. Replaced alternator and battery, since the old battery was drained. could it be fuel pump? HELP.....

Sure sounds like a fuel pump. Get under the fuel tank and try to hear it when the key is first turned. If you can't then it's definitely fuel pump.

My friend and I listened for it but didn't hear it. We tried the starter fluid in the carb, just to make sure the gas line was still flowing, tahoe still don't start, is it still the fuel pump?

Stupid question, but is there gas in the tank?
