Thanks for inviting me to participate on your forum. Okay, so I'ts not a truck, but I'm body on frame!

Guys, I'm completely bamboozled on Offset & Backspacing. I'm not lifting it or going up in tire size. I just want to give it a distinct look. The stock wheel is 17 x 7.5, 8 lug, 6.5 bolt pattern. Started out with KMC "Bully" 17 x 8. Called four hi profile wheel houses and was told by two that these would fit, and two that said they wouldn't. Called KMC and they said they wouldn't fit. I've looked at maybe 20 wheels with all the "millimeter" offsets, and various backspacing dimensions. Totally confused!!

My next brainstorm was that since I'm not changing wheel diameter or width, or tire size, then maybe I could find out my stock wheel's offset & backspace and just buy the new wheels to match. Does anybody know the offset and backspace for my stock 17 x 7.5, 8 lug, 6.5 bolt pattern?? Tried to Google it but no luck. Oh, and one other thing, we do extensive traveling in Baja on unimproved roads, so I would like to minimize the distance the tire protrudes from the wheel well to minimize paint removal. I guess this is a function of Offset & Backspace.

Thanks------------Davmin in Calif.
