heres a dilema for you guys though, if they start cracking down hard on things that people do while driving, what are they going to target next in vehicle radios?
Smokers. Cigarette smokers. I'm surprised the do-gooders haven't eliminated this yet. All that 2nd hand smoke coming out of all of those cars and trucks where people smoke. Oh, and what about pets? Dogs? Should dogs be in a seat belt container?

the bottom line is people are ditching common sense, it blows my mind how mongoloid society is becoming...

Heard about this. Honestly on the fence regarding my feelings about it. I talk on the phone when I drive, but most often I have my bluetooth earbud in. And I've shot quick texts out while sitting at a red light. So I'm in favor of certain communication functions while on the road. But I do hate it when people cruise at 70mph with the phone up to their ear chatting away, or texting. That's especially dangerous to motorcycles!!

A few motorcyles drivers I see like 3 out of ten the way they drive will get hit . Most of the time they are darting in and out of trafic. Most drivers are not looking for bikes when they are driving . They are hard to see, and they can come up so quick that you can look in your mirro and then look ahead and figure its safe to pull out and past a guy and check your blind spot and bam a stupid biker going way over the speed almost got killed . Bikes are fast machines its hard not to be agressive riders with them but they should not be crying if i ever run them over on accident .

I'm normally against any restrictive legislation but this cell phone and texting while driving is out of hand. I would rather have to deal with drunk drivers. At least the drunk drivers usually are trying to watch the road.....

Drunks may be TRYING to watch the road, but texters are not. Both are dangerous in my book. None more than the other, except texters are momentarily distracted while drunks are constantly a hazard while driving. But like SouthCo said, people are always going to do stupid stuff no matter what laws are on the books. That is why I have a job and always will :)

what is your job

it is illegal here to text and drive,,,600 dollar fine, but bs laws like this are way too hard to enforce...just like seatbelt laws

I dont care if people dont want to wear seat belts . lol when they crash and go flying out the window and most likely die . It will just be one less stupid driver on the road.

More government intervention and regulations on things. Where does it end? Kids int he back are distracting, the radio is distracting, fumbling with the HVAC is distracting. Where does the regulation and whatnot end? The government needs to butt the f*ck out of everyones business. They do it with it's own citizens and they do it with other countries. It needs to stop...

i don't think should be doing alot of this stuff but i think they should fine people if they cause an accident and whatnot but making it a primary offense is crossing the line as they can do a lot on that and abuse power. Now their is talk of police agencies flying drones over cities to watch for "criminal acts" who's to say they don't fly over when your wife is out tanning topless in the back yard or whatever. The point that if you have nothing to hide then it doesn't matter is not the point. The point is how many freedoms and rights and whatnot gets stepped on before people get pissed? Random home searches? i mean if you have nothing to hide it shouldn't matter that people come thru your door at 4 am without a warrant? I'm not saying that i agree with texting and driving but i'm very much against all the government idiots saying they are doing everything for peoples safety and intrude on peoples civil liberties. This is just a starting point to much worse sh*t down the road.
