Does anyone else's radio make a popping sound?

I've noticed it a few times since I've had the truck but I associated it to XM because everytime I heard it in the past, that is what I was listing to. Well today, I was riding around with my daughter and it did it on the regular FM radio. When it pops it's loud and sounds like a power surge. When it happends that is all you here and then the radio resumes like nothing happened. It's so infrequent that I am not sure how I could duplicate this to my dealer.

Has anyone heard of this with these trucks? I do have the Bose sound system and it does have Navigation, DVD, Rear Camera and XM but the XM has expired.

Thanks

This actually just happened to me today. It happened right when I started the truck. I had the radio on satellite at the time. It's the only time it's happened though. I don't have the bose sound system. I'm not exactly sure what could have caused it but since it's only happened this one time so far I'm not too worried about it.

This has happened in my truck several times....always figured it was the radio station.

It's exactly what you describe.

I have been working with GM radios for 7 years now. I have heard of this popping before and what I have noticed are a few things.

1. Did your vehicle come with the navigation from the factory or was it an ADD ON after it arrived at the dealer but before you bought it?

2. When you experience the POP, does the audio completely go out and then come back when it pops?

This will help me diagnose your issue. In the past, the pop has been relative to the bose amplifier. THe amp works on the R.A.P. wire or retained accessory power wire. when the POPPING occurs, it is the amplifier turning off temporarily while the radio stays on.

I would take the vehicle in for diagnosing of the audio system.

I await your response and I will see what I can do to help.
