Just got brand new 2011! A bit different....

So over the years the guys on the forum have been helpful with my old truck (2007 Classic Crew Cab) with leveling kits, exhaust, stereo, etc. Well it was just about paid for and then my wife had the idea of me getting a new truck (probably because she wants a new car herself) so I went to carsdirect and built it just like last time and couldn't believe the $ they took off for the 2011's left! So long story short I got a new black 2011 Silverado 1500 Crew. But this one is a bit different. I ended up with every option except the nav system. The 5.3 has way more juice than my 4.8 and the 6 speed tranny makes all the difference. I feel like this truck was made for my iphone! Plugged it into the USB all the music played perfect, bluetooth, the onstar and chevy apps. I love this friggin truck! So I have to get the windows tinted, leveling kit, rims, and a bedliner. Loved my 2007, it was the best vehicle I ever owned but this new truck is the nicest vehicle I have been in! Never had leather! SO thanks guys for all the help and will need more with the new truck!

Well my last truck that I sold for the 2011 was almost 10 years older than yours but I like the new one almost as much as you do. It does have some "personality traits" that will take some adjustment but in general I like it. The 6 speed transmission is "busy" but the truck has much better acceleration than the 5.7L it replaced. Good luck and enjoy!

It will get better. It has adaptive learning to "learn" your driving habits. It takes a few miles to settle in. I didn't really care for the 6-speed right out of the box either but love it now
