MikeNH Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 No muffler from the aftermarket will "work" on your truck without mods. All Corsa mufflers for the trucks are 3" inlet and 3" outlet (unless its a dual exhaust model). So you'll need pipe adapters and possibly pipe as I think the stock muffler is longer.
spankrz Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 or just buy a different brand muffler..... i have a flowmaster 40 series, i love it. you can buy them for around $60 on ebay, $100 local parts store. prices between the two around the web. magnaflow has a quieter less agressive tone. too quiet for me, many like it better. go to a local muffler shop and have them take care of you. they do it every day. tell them what you want, and they can do it. if you want stainless, they can most likely do that. i have always been content with aluminized pipe. natural steel rusts quickly.
spankrz Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 also, if you just want a different muffler, get offset inlet/offset outlet 3"/3". you will need a short peice of pipe. i needed 11" extra, but i forget what length my muffler is. no adapters are necesarry, assuming you are going to weld it on. if you dont have a welder, take it to a local shop. it is worth the price. going from a 2 3/4" pipe to a 3" pipe is only a 1/8" gap all around the pipe. you will have no problem filling that gap with a mig welder. sorry for the double post, it would not let me edit my previous post to include this.
