understanding a drop?

What is a 2/4 drop? Is that 2" front & 4" rear?

 

I have my torsion bars cranked and a stock block in my '06 GMC sierra 1500, leveled. Can I just remove the block without any other mods to lower the rear, while decranking the front to drop it level? Will new shocks be stock lenght?

Yes, 2" up front and 4" in the rear. Usually different spindles or knuckles involved with kits.

 

And yes, you can remove the rear blocks without issue and de-crank the front some. You'll need an alignment afterwards and as long as you don't go extreme, I don't think you'll need new shocks.

Thanks, I'm trying to lower it without adding a kit. Clears up alot of questions for me.

If you decrank your bars your going to bottom out on just about every bump you hit, not good on the front end parts

if your keys are already cranked, and you de-crank them as in back to stock your angles which is probably goin to lower it 1.5 inches, it should be flat and it should not bottom out any more than it did stock, doin that will give you a factory rake of 1.5-2 inches... and then removing the factory block should put you about level basically you're putting it back to stock and pulling the block out (may need new ubolts) and yes you will need a front end alignment
