Update:

I am the one with a 1996 silverado with an intermittent miss. I am getting an intermittent randon cylinder misfire and an intermittent code 1351. I unplugged the fuel injection harness and cranked engine per someone elses suggestion and code 1351 did re set. So where would I go from here?

I had this on my 96 years ago and it was a couple of weak valve springs.

The way to check for this is to do a running compression check, The dealer had my truck a couple of weeks and couldn't figure it out until they called gm and they said there were some bad batches of I think exhaust valve springs. I am not sure weather it was intake or exhaust ,but I think it was exhaust this was 10 to 15 years ago so I don't remember and my truck had about 80,000 on it before it happened.

Hope this helps, originally the dealer insisted it was a bad injectors and change 2 of them but it did not help, I told them repeatedly I did not think it was the injectors so I ended up getting them for free.
