Brake light problems

When I press down my pedal my brake lights work. If I let up a just a little bit on the pedal, my brake lights go out even though the pedal isn't all the way up. I still have the brake pedal pushed and the lights go out. They only come back on if I press down all the way. It might be a little confusing, but is there a way to adjust a switch or something so the brake light stay on until the pedal is all the way up?

You must have a gmt900 truck...I'm not sure if I've read about a solution but it is talked about a lot on here. Try a search & you may come across something. Not a new problem by any means. Good luck & happy reading!

It's your brake switch. Either go to a dealer and buy a new $15 switch (Make sure its the latest one, they can tell you) and just swap them, or pull yours off, open it up and cut a couple of coils off of the internal spring and you're good to go
