Mossyoakglock Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 I need to change my transfer case and transmision fluid in about a 1,000 miles and want to use the Mobil1 Dex VI in both but I can't find it. Has anybody seen it in any parts stores? Whenever I'm in one I check but no luck. http://www.mobiloil....ron_VI_ATF.aspx If I can't find it I'll just stick with the Castrol Dex VI Synthetic-Blend. Might go with Valvoline since it's a full synthetic. On a side note: I'm going to be changing rear-end gear oil and was checking around and noticed that all the Synthetic gear oils say they are excellent for LS applications. This leads me to believe they have the LS additive added. I've been running the Mobil1 no problems but saw that Coastal 75W-90 seems to be the only one that is not for LS applications. Is Coastal worth getting since it seems to be made for non-limited slip applications like our G80s or stick with Valvoline or M1?
RyanbabZ71 Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Mobil 1 for the rear end is fine. I ran the 75W-90 in the front and rear of my old truck for some time with no issues.
Z71-K9 Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 I tried for several weeks to find but never did. Finally, I used Valvoline.
oldschool327 Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Advance Autoparts has it in my area, but I see it at Walmart, and even at the Mobil gas stations. Shouldnt be too hard to find. http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/1/1/566062--dexron-mercon-automatic-transmission-fluid-1-qt-by-mobil1-part-98hc69.html
markw8 Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 I've never been able to find Mobil 1 Dex-VI. Only their one size fit all stuff. Mark
